Children & Youth
Benn’s Church children and youth have many opportunities to share in fun and fellowship while learning about God’s love for them. All are welcome.
Benn’s Youth Group is for middle school and high school students. This active youth group meets on Sundays in the new Youth "Fish Tank" Room #100 from 5:00-6:15pm.
These youth enjoy fellowship, planned activities and enjoy making a difference in their community and world through mission projects. Group Leader is Courtenay Bowman.

Kid friendly interactive themes are a fun way for elementary children to learn of God’s love for them and how to serve others. There are many volunteering opportunities for older youth and adults alike.
Paper registrations are available in the church office.

Thank you to EVERYONE for a successful Vacation Bible School!! We averaged 41 kids every day, had 14 youth assistants, and 30 adults. Over 150 food items were collected to be given to the Christian Outreach Food Pantry and $233.64 was given to support the Society of St. Andrews mission of providing food to underserved communities. Take a look at the photos below and on the TV screen in the FLC lobby. A special thank you to Mrs. Mary Nancy Saunders and her leadership!

Children are welcome to stay for the duration of the service or they can go to nursery/child care. Nursery care is for infants and toddlers and located in room 107. Older children, generally ages 3-5 meet together in room 102 and can be divided as necessary for age appropriate activities.
The value of each child is recognized and is sacred to both the preschool and the church family at Benn's UMC. Each child will be treated as an individual and with respect.
Preschool children learn best through play and by participating in activities which are developmentally appropriate. Children will leave our program with the skills to thrive in kindergarten. Skills such as cutting, proper pencil holding, recognizing the alphabet, shapes and colors. Generous time will be allowed daily for children to choose their own activities and playmates. The daily schedule also includes group time in language, math, music and science skills.
Another part of the curriculum is Al's Pals: Kids Making Healthy Choices.
Units of Study:
The curriculum is based on thematic units such as Self (senses and feelings), Community Helpers, Pilgrims and Native Americans, Oceans, Weather, Dinosaurs, Farm, Family, Seasons and Holidays.
