Part-time Pianist Position
Benn’s United Methodist Church in Smithfield, is seeking a part-time Pianist to join our music staff. Duties include choir and Praise Band rehearsals, two Sunday services and other occasional accompanist responsibilities. Part-time, salaried position with limited benefits. Nursery Help–Looking for volunteers to help out with nursery during the First or Second service. Once in a while, not weekly or could even be “on call”. Please contact Madison Bell or the church office. 757 357-3373.

Would you like to learn how to play the handbells? We will be offering lessons in how to ring starting in January. Benn’s Ringers needs to fill a couple of vacant positions, but there is no obligation to join the group if you would just like to learn how to play the handbells (although we would love to have you!). We now have several options for making donations: You can mail in your check, use your bank’s Bill Pay option. Also, new is the “donate” button found on our website! For those that would like to donate stock or capital gains from their IRA accounts, please call the church office.

Food Pantry & I.O.W C.O.P.
*They continue to be in need of regular items to place in food bags such as beans, spaghetti sauce, jelly and soups. Thank you for your continued support to our neighbors.
*Spread the word! Beginning Monday, Jan. 10th and throughout February, IOW COP will be distributing donated new winter hats, gloves, scarves and socks, both adult and children’s. If you or anyone you know is in need, please come by our facility (402 Grace Street, Smithfield) any Mon, Wed, or Fri from 10am-3pm and we will provide!!
* We are in the process of reinstating our Vehicle Donation Program, specifically for folks who are employed but are in need of transportation. If anyone has, or knows of a car or truck to donate, please contact us – 757-356-9267

Benn’s Free Little Library Update Christian living books are available on upper two shelves. We need to replenish our young adult, juvenile and children’s books, if you have gently used books in these areas, please consider donating them. We’ve also had a request for science fiction, historical fiction and history books!
