Music Notes

Dear Benn’s family,

‘Tis the season!!!!!   No … not the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas (although I have already seen Christmas decorations in stores).  ‘Tis the season for cool breezes blowing through beautifully colored leaves, singing hymns of  “grateful praise”, and breathing in the aroma of turkey roasting, pies baking and other favorite recipes as families gather this month to give thanks for their many blessings.

While reading through the “songs” of David, I came across what I thought was a perfect “recipe” for honoring and thanking God, not just in this season, but in all seasons.   The instructions are quite easy to follow!  Try it!

First… 1Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. (emphasis on “joyful”) Then…

Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing (a very healthy ingredient).

Know ye that the Lord HE IS GOD (no substitution): it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (don’t skimp on these 4 ingredients)

Remember this finishing touch… For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. (Psalm100:1-5)

For best results, use this recipe often!

Happy Thanksgiving to all from your music ministry !

With a grateful heart, Jean
